Happy Nurses Week to all my fellow nurses! This June will be my 31st year as a practicing licensed practical nurse. I continue to enjoy taking care of patients, talking with them and learning from them. They have taught me a lot, specifically about the things that I want to do and the things I do not want to do. I hope that all the nurses feel appreciated this week and throughout the reminder of their careers.
Last week, I was blessed to meet with Dr. Jacqueline Hill, PhD, RN, CNE the Department Chair of the Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics & Nursing at Bowie State University. It was a wonderful way to kick off Nurses Week this year. I appreciated the invitation to discuss my recent book, Are You Really Listening? with her.
